Have an Existing Ring?

Awesome! You can use either of the following 2 methods to measure the size of your existing ring.

Method 1: Measure Ring Diameter

You can use a straight ruler to measure the inner diameter of the ring. You can then use this diameter measurement and identify your ring size (with different international standards) using the table below.

Method 2: Ring Matcher

Download our Ring-Matcher PDF guide using the button below to match your existing ring with the perfect circle. This is a more precise method of measuring the size of your ring.

Useful Tips:

  • Average Sizes: For women, the average ring size (circumference) range falls between 49 mm and 54 mm. For men, it generally ranges from 57 mm - 62 mm. If you don't have any specific information about the ring size and no way of measuring it, we recommend choosing within these standard ranges. In case your purchased ring does not fit you well, Precious Earth will be happy to provide you with a free ring re-sizing service. Please get in touch with one of our representatives to avail this service.
  • Time of Day: To ensure a comfortable fit, it is best to measure your finger’s circumference in the evening as most people's fingers tend to be at their thickest in the evening and thinner in the morning.
  • Optimal Temperature: Fingers can be affected by temperature and may vary based on weather conditions. They tend to shrink in cold weather and expand in warmer humid weather. Measuring when you are relaxed indoors at room temperature will ensure accurate sizing and a comfortable fit.
  • Fingers Expand & Contract: It is helpful to remember that fingers may shrink or expand with exercise, the body’s water retention, pregnancy, ageing, or arthritis. Weight loss too can cause fingers to decrease in size. Please consider these variables while sizing your finger.

No Existing Ring?

No problem! You can use either of the following 2 methods to freshly measure the circumference of your finger and choose the best-fitted ring size.

Method 1: Use a String & Ruler

For this DIY method, all you need is a piece of non-elastic string, a ruler, & a pen. Follow the steps below to know your ring size:

  • Step 1 - Wrap a string around the mid-knuckle of your finger. Make sure that the string wraps comfortably & is not very tight or loose.
  • Step 2 - Use a pen to mark the point where the two ends of the string overlap.
  • Step 3 - Remove the string & lay it next to a ruler (ideally with an mm scale)
  • Step 4 - Measure the distance between the two pen marks. This is the circumference of your finger (in mm).
  • Step 5 - Use the below table to identify your ring size & compare it with the different national standards.

Method 2: Precious Earth Ruler

Download the Precious Earth Ruler using the button below and follow the steps specified in the document to find your correct ring size.

Do note, however, that the margin of error is relatively higher with this method of measurement.
